Founded in 1950 by engineer Giuseppe Benso, the company is now managed by the third generation with the same values as before: commitment and entrepreneurship.

Albasider is located in Villalvernia, in the province of Alessandria, in a strategic geographical and logistical position.

Its proximity to the most important logistics hub in the north-west of Italy means that raw material procurement times and transport costs to clients are reduced.

A long history of growth

1950
Albasider was founded in Albisola (SV). The company supplies customised sheet metal to the national market.
1971

A new company was inaugurated: Siderugica Villalvernia, based in Villalvernia (AL). The company is engaged in hot rolling for the production of striated and embossed sheet metal.

1988
Opening of a branch of Albasider in Paderno Dugnano (MI) for the cutting of tapes derived from coils.
1995

Concentration of activities at a single production site in Villalvernia: a new, modern steel service centre is established for the production of tapes and sheets from coils

1998
Investment in a new tape-cutting line (slitter) with a maximum table of 1,650 mm.
2001
The company obtains its first ISO 9001 certification.
2002
Investment in a new sheet cutting line with a 1,150 mm table.
2008
Investment in a new tape-cutting line (slitter) with a 1,850 mm table.
2018
Modernisation of the sheet cutting line with 2,000 mm table.
2022
Investment in a new tape-cutting line (slitter) with a 2,000 mm table.
